Help remember mothers, adopted people and wider families affected by forced adoption on the 10 year anniversary of the national apology for forced adoptions (the National Apology).
The Government will provide additional funding of $1.0 million over two years from 2022- 23 to help remember mothers, adopted people and wider families affected by forced adoption on the 10 year anniversary of the national apology for forced adoptions (the National Apology). The National Apology acknowledged the experiences of those affected by forced adoptions, which created a lifelong legacy of pain and suffering. The funding also allows for the delivery of trauma-informed support services for people affected by forced adoption. The cost of this measure will be met from within the existing resourcing of the Department of Social Services.
