Boost homelessness funding to states and territories.
The Government will provide additional funding of $67.5 million in 2023-24 to boost homelessness funding to states and territories. The funding will be used to support the provision of homelessness services through the National Housing and Homelessness Agreement in 2023-24. The current National Housing and Homelessness Agreement provides over $1.6 billion to states and territories, with Government committing to a one year extension for the National Housing and Homelessness Agreement to 30 June 2024 in the 2022-23 October Budget, while negotiations are underway with states and territories. Commonwealth payments to the states and territories are managed by the Treasury.
