Continue supporting negotiations on a long-term skills funding agreement with the states and territories.
The Government will provide $5.5 million in 2023-24 to continue supporting negotiations on a long-term skills funding agreement with the states and territories. Subject to the outcome of these negotiations, the Government has also retained $3.7 billion in the Contingency Reserve for a 5-year National Skills Agreement that will commence on 1 January 2024. The cost of this measure will be met from savings identified in the 2023-24 Budget measure titled Employment and Workplace Relations - reprioritisation.
