Islander studies

means research and study in relation to aspects of the culture, history and society of Aboriginal persons or Torres Strait Islanders.

means research and study in relation to aspects of the culture, history and society of Aboriginal persons or Torres Strait Islanders.

means a person of the Aboriginal race of Australia.

means a Councillor referred to in paragraph 12(1)(b) or (c).

means property of every kind, and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, includes:

(a) choses in action; and

means the Minister, the Principal or a member of the staff of the new Institute authorised by the Minister in writing for the purposes of this Part.

means the of the Institute referred to in section 24.

means the of this Act.

means the of the Institute referred to in section 12.

means the Chairperson of the Council appointed under subsection 14(1).

means a member of the Council.

means a Councillor referred to in paragraph 12(1)(a).

means the Minister who administers this Act.

means the Australian of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies established by section 4.

means rules made by the Council under section 48.

means of every kind, and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, includes obligations of every kind, whether arising under or by virtue of an instrument or otherwise, and whether liquidated or unliquidated, certain or contingent, accrued or accruing.

means the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies.

means the Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies.

means an instrument:

(a) to which the old Institute was a party;

(b) that was given to or in favour of the old Institute;

(c) in which a reference is made to the old Institute; or

means the of the Institute referred to in section 24.
