Description

The Government will save $43.2 million over 4 years from 2023-24 (and $11.7 million per year ongoing) by increasing the Meteorological Services Charge for international and domestic commercial aviation operators to ensure essential aviation meteorological services are appropriately funded. This measure will deliver $50.2 million over 4 years from 2023-24 in additional revenue (and $14.4 million per year ongoing) from the aviation sector. The Government will also provide $7.1 million over 4 years from 2023-24 (and $2.8 million per year ongoing) to the Bureau of Meteorology to maintain and strengthen its capability to provide aviation meteorological services. This measure builds on the 2022-23 October Budget measure titled Aviation Meteorological Services - additional funding.
