means human research guidelines issued by the CEO under paragraph 7(1)(a) in the circumstances referred to in subsection 14(1) or (5).

means a regulatory recommendation made in the circumstances referred to in section 14.

includes the laboratory ‐ based or clinical study, or group or community ‐ based study of the causes, treatment and prevention of human diseases and also includes dental research.

means the National Health and Medical Research Council.

has the meaning given by subsection 80(1).

means the Order in Council dated 23 August 1991 and cited as the National Health and Medical Research Council Order.

means the Fund known as the Medical Research Endowment Fund and established under the Medical Research Endowment Act 1937 as a Trust Account for the purposes of section 62A of the Audit Act 1901 .

means a committee established, or taken to be established, by the Minister under section 35.

means the Privacy Commissioner within the meaning of the Privacy Act 1988 .

means the day fixed by Proclamation for the commencement of section 6.

includes the study of the health of a community or population for purposes directed at improving or protecting the health of that community or population.

means a recommendation of the Council that is intended to be given legal effect in a State by legislation of that State.

means:

means the staff referred to in section 45.

means a body, whether incorporated or not, established by a State or Territory, or by or under a law of a State or Territory.

means a Department of State of a State or Territory.

means the Department of State of a State or Territory, or the State or Territory authority, that has principal responsibility for matters relating to health in the State or Territory.

means a member of the Council appointed under paragraph 20(d).

means the Australian Capital Territory or the Northern Territory .
