means an Aboriginal Land Council established by or under this Act.

means a Board member who is appointed by a Land Council under subsection 65EB(1).

means an Aboriginal Land Trust established under this Act.

means a law made under, or having effect in the Northern Territory by virtue of, the Northern Territory (Self ‐ Government) Act 1978 .

means royalties payable to the Commonwealth or the Northern Territory in respect of the mining of minerals.

means a miner’s right or other authority issued under a law of the Northern Territory relating to mining for minerals, being a right or authority that empowers the holder to take possession of, mine or occupy land, or take any other action in relation to land, for any purpose in connexion with

means a religious society or association the purposes of which are, or include, furthering the spiritual, cultural or economic welfare of Aboriginals, and includes a trustee or trustees empowered to hold land on behalf of such a society or association.

means the person holding ministerial office under section 36 of the Northern Territory (Self ‐ Government) Act 1978 who is responsible for the administration of the law of the Northern Territory relating to mining for minerals.

means a person approved by the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory under subsection 3AA(1).

means an authority, issued under a law of the Northern Territory relating to mining for minerals, that empowers the holder to take possession of, mine or occupy land, or take any other action in relation to land, for any purpose in connection with mining.

(short for Northern Territory Aboriginal Investment Corporation) means the body established by subsection 65B(1).

means the rules made under section 65JE.

means work for financial gain or reward (whether as an employee, a self ‐ employed person or otherwise).

has the meaning given by subsection 5(1) of the Petroleum Act of the Northern Territory.
